• Tolliver Powder Coating: South Florida’s Best Powder Coating Facility

Our Powder Coating and Media Blasting Facility

How We Powder Coat the World

Powder Coating is an effective means of preventing undesirable damage and deterioration to valuable property.  In recent years, the demand for powder coating has increased because it offers a harder, more durable exterior than liquid paint.  Though some may believe this is a do-it-yourself project, the way to achieve maximum results is by using a professional powder coating facility like Tolliver Powder Coating in West Palm Beach.  Our facility is equipped to handle projects of any size, offering clients expertly applied polymers that will protect valuables for many years to come.

Tolliver has the largest powder coating facility in West Palm Beach and the surrounding area.  Our 30,000 sq. ft. location allows us to perform larger jobs than any competitors, while being versatile enough to perform smaller jobs as needed.  For the convenience of our clients, we offer pick-up and delivery service throughout South Florida.

There are three major steps involved in powder coating, and Tolliver has state-of-the-art equipment and facilities to perform each aspect of the process:

Media Blasting: Before applying any polymer to an object, its exterior must be media blasted to remove any existing coating and create a uniform surface, free of corrosion.  The process is very similar to sandblasting, except media blasting allows for the use of various abrasives to remove unwanted surface debris.   Tolliver Powder Coating’s West Palm Beach media blasting facility can accommodate objects up to sixty feet in length.

Polymer Application: After the exterior of an object has been media blasted, our specialists pretreat the surface to ensure that it will accept the polymer uniformly.  The object is then placed in one of Tolliver’s two coating facilities.  For smaller jobs, or those consisting of multiple parts, we use an automated line that sprays the polymer evenly as it moves along the conveyor.  Using the line establishes a smooth, balanced coating on objects up to 24 feet in length.  Our other method of applying powder coating is in our batch facility, where Tolliver professionals electrostatically apply polymer using high-tech spray guns designed specifically for powder coating.

Batch Ovens: The final aspect of the powder coating process is placing the treated object in a batch oven.  Heating allows the polymer to fuse properly to the exterior surface, solidifying the bond between particles and curing the powder coating.
